Too many “things to do” and not enough time to “think”.

The world is WAY to full of doing and not enough thinking.

Spring . . . sheesh,

I have just completed a marathon of science outreach behavior - my Master’s class has ridiculous amount of homework, and all I want to do is sit on my porch with a glass of wine and ponder my garden, go view some art,  and some of the really cool science stuff I’ve seen in the last month or so.  I need to have time to think and process things, nothing major, just creative things.  I want to make things and try cooking new things.  I need time to be creative - not just react to the latest demand for my time.

<sigh>  I love spring and I wish it wasn’t SO incredibly “scheduled”.

bigger than me

bumqueesha:

Sometimes I get way too involved in my “to do” list and I forget to enjoy things. I think some days God finds ways to force me to slow down and enjoy the night breeze and the neighbor’s windchimes and piano music. He is probably watching a lot saying “SLOW DOWN and enjoy this! Put all your screens away for awhile and explore this planet.”

I think about the big picture a lot and sometimes I feel like every now and then I get a glimpse of what it really looks like to do something bigger than just worrying about myself. It is funny how investing in other people and thinking about them more than myself often pays off in strange and awesome ways. I need to remember that more when I am caught up in “me.”

Fav iPhone App . . .

I love my new iPhone - really love it!  What  a cool device - it is WAY better than the Star Trek communicator device that was the “dream communication” device 30 years ago .. .an iPhone is better than ANYTHING in fiction at any time.

Ok - so my new fav App, lame as it may be, is the moon phase App (ok - the Pandora App is better but) … pick any date and the app will tell you what the moon will look like on that night. at your longitude and latitude!  Including “Howling” on a full moon night . .. YES! That is SO fun!

Full moons are SO cool but so are new moons …  the sky is SO dark on a new moon - perfect for star gazing.

As a kid of the 70’s … I am still “charmed” by the moon.  SERIOUSLY, think about how cool the moon is - just ponder the moon for a moment …

Whoa . . . Iowa?!?!?! → realclearpolitics.com

WOW!  Who would have thought, right in the backyard of Fred Phelps, no less!!!  Iowa says a ban on gay marriage is unconstitutional.  Seriously … I don’t know what to say.

SHOCK!  I cannot believe, that in my lifetime, that IOWA would allow gay marriage… . wow.
