A guess...

ok - it’s just a “guess”, a ridiculous prediction… if, Obama is elected president, which I SO SO SO hope and pray occurs, I predict that Hillary will be Secretary of State… more “powerful” than a VP…

what ‘chu think?

Cars I saw today...

This has been an extremely funny day on the highways.  Since I only have a minute I’ll just tell you about one of the humorous automobile sightings today:

A small academic woman driving a Matrix, she was barely able to see over the steering wheel - picture Edna E Mode from the Incredibles.  The car had a bumper sticker on it that read “Pacifism kicks ass”.  I laughed

Hmmm....

Yes, I’m voting for Obama but I have to say; the Dems are not so inspiring at this point in their convention.  In fact, Pelosi sucked!  Now for poor Ted Kennedy; not that I’m a big fan but the poor man is SO racked with cancer …. this is gonna be downright painful….  I feel so sorry for anyone in this condition.

Biden is a fine choice I think - I’ve always liked him!

Extra pounds mean insurance fees for Ala. workers - Road Runner → rr.com

I haven’t posted anything in over a week and I can’t believe THIS is what I’m choosing to post but… I think I really agree with it!

We (at work) have to have a screening or our insurance costs more - and it should!  There are many people that I work with that have changed their behaviors and have gotten healthier because of their screening results; which is VERY cool.

Folks that have no regard to their health thereby increasing their health risks shouldn’t cause everyone else’s insurance to increase.  Good for Alabama!

Thus it begins...

the 5:30 alarm went off this morning signaling the start of the next “year”.

For most people the “year” begins with Auld Lang Syne at the midnight hour on Jan 1st - but for me it begins with the beeping of the alarm clock on the first day “back to work”.  Then, one week from today, the kids will arrive with the sound of fanfare at an all school assembly, carefully chosen clothing will be worn, new notebooks and folders will be carried, and we all begin the 08-09 school year.

I love it that in teaching you ALWAYS have a “start” and a “finish” -  and every year you get to have a fresh start.  I’m really looking forward to this year and this fresh start!

Bring on that new box of crayons!!

August and February

These two months are the bookends of the year - in terms of temperature.  At one end you have so much cold and ice that you can’t go out and there is never enough sun and on the other end you have way too much sun and you can’t go out because you’ll feel like you have just stepped into a sauna.

If I could just have sun in February I’d prefer that … as it is now, I can’t choose which is better/worse.
